How to Buy an Original Phone Charger in Dubai and the UAE

Where to buy a genuine iPhone or Samsung charger in Dubai and the UAE, what “UAE version” means, warranty questions to ask, and red flags.

Chargers are one of the most copied accessories in the UAE market. Copies are often good enough to fool the eye, so the safest approach is not to become an expert in spotting fakes – it is to buy from a source where fakes are unlikely in the first place. Here is a practical checklist we give our own customers.

1. Choose the seller before the product

Genuine Apple and Samsung chargers come through the brands’ own stores, authorised distributors, and established retailers who buy from them. Ask the seller directly: “Is this UAE version stock, and from which distributor?” A trustworthy shop will answer without hesitation. Market stalls and anonymous online listings with no address or trade licence are where most copies end up.

2. Understand “UAE version”

UAE version stock is imported for this market through official channels. It has the correct UK-style 3-pin plug (or the correct model for the region), local packaging and labelling, and is covered by local warranty support. Grey imports may be genuine but can come with a different plug and no local warranty – useful to know before you pay.

3. Ask for a receipt and a warranty

A proper VAT invoice with the seller’s name and TRN is a strong sign you are dealing with a registered business. Ask how long the warranty is and how claims work. At DuuD Telecom our original chargers carry a 1-year warranty from activation, and our invoices show our TRN.

4. Check the box and the adapter

  • Sealed, well-printed packaging with the correct model number (for example A2305 for Apple 20W, EP-T4511 for Samsung 45W).
  • Clean seams, even printing, and full safety and voltage text on the adapter.
  • Correct behaviour on your phone: “Super fast charging” on Galaxy, quick top-ups on iPhone.

Remember, weight and logos can be faked – our fake vs original Apple charger guide shows a copy filled with clay to match the weight.

5. Red flags

  • A price far below every other trusted shop.
  • “Original copy”, “first copy” or “master copy” wording – these are copies.
  • No invoice, no warranty, or pressure to pay cash quickly.

Which charger to pick

For iPhone, most people need the Apple 20W USB-C adapter – see our 20W guide. For Galaxy phones, the right wattage depends on the model – see Samsung 25W vs 45W vs 65W.
